Sam Paganini – ‘Satellite’

Sam Paganini – ‘Satellite’

Drumcode have done it again, shortly after our little teaser of Adam Beyer’s new release that you can catch here, they’ve released an absolute belter of a techno album from Italian DJ ad producer Sam Paganini, and might we add that the album artwork is pretty cool to boot too.

In the short time ‘Satellite’ has been out, it’s smashed its way through the Beatport Top 100 Releases to take the top spot the other day, and rightly so.

Sam has clearly taken his time out of his elusive touring to provide us with an absolute gem of an album, that I’m sure fans of Drumcode will love, and techno heads all over will, and have been, praising unanimously for its “all killer, no filler” attitude and take on current techno.

The track ‘Down’ is an absolute BEAST, the vocal that gets brought in, that’s immediately followed by the drop is no nonsense what so ever, this gem moves crowds into the next gear. There’s also plenty more to choose from by way of awesome songs in Satellite, Silver Panorama gives a break from the heavy and provides a lofty little number that wouldn’t be a miss in a Todd Terry set, there’s not too much of a break though, as immediately after you get dropkicked into the monster that is ‘Lotus’, this seems to be a very popular choice and favourite for many, not surprising then that this is getting lots of playtime in mixes!

More you say? ‘Toxic’ is another stand-out with its warped sounding synths, but the big one for me personally has to be ‘Sunflower’, and you’ll probably be able to tell why oohhhhhh about 2 minutes into it, PURE CLASS.

Hats off to Sam Paganini for what could be techno’s album of the year – check it out here.
