Laxx – ‘Step 2’

“Dubstep is dead”. That’s what they keep telling us. You know what I say? Never Say Die.

The latest EP from Laxx comes a little under two months after the first installment, ‘Step One’. ‘Step Two’ follows on perfectly and presents a variety of colour (from light and boppy to dark and disgusting). From a crafty two step head-nodder to an outright screw-your-face-so-hard-you’ll-look-like-you’ve-messed-yourself: Laxx seems to be ticking all boxes on this one.

Hailed as “the new big thing” by Taiki & Nu Light, Laxx is already making big moves in the bass scene and has recently received support from head bass boys Knife Party.

The Brainbug remix (featuring MUST DIE!) is by far our favourite, sounding like a coalescence with Nero and Bare Noize. Laxx has an impeccable way of amalgamating traditional dub sounds with exhilarating elements of trap, and we challenge any one from either party not to be just a little bit impressed.

One (or two) small steps for bass… Two giant leaps for Laxx!
