Jaguar Skills & Chords – ‘Lust’ ft. Matti Roots (The Remixes)

The mysterious ninja Jaguar Skills has joined forces with Chords to release this hard hitting new EP release entitled ‘Lust’ ft Matti Roots. Lust we certainly will!

The unlikely production partnership threw their beats together to create this drum and bass, electro explosion which will be sure to have you on your feet. Signing to RAM earlier this year, Jaguar came back with a bang after his previous hit with the label, Biting Point. The new release is different to say the least, showing a fresh, new, maybe even softer vibe to the ninja.

After doing some work on the Matti Roots acapella, Jags took the help of Chords who gave his opinion and worked some of his d&b magic to deliver a spell bounding creation. Chords, who is known for his drum and bass style, was an unusual partner for Jaguar making some fans question the release, however since being unveiled last week it seems the duo did not disappoint and followers are loving the new sounds.

The original version of the release from Matti Roots has a real funk to it, with a feel-good vibe and up beat chorus it is a great foundation to Jags and Chords mix. The chorus has an immense hook, making it easy to listen to, so don’t be surprised if you find your head autonomously bopping as it plays! Jags splashed the funky house track with his electro beats whilst Chords was there to drop it low with his well-known d&b style. The marriage of the two components worked in perfect harmony and the two successfully bonded together to eject what, in my opinion, is a great track.

Imagine yourself at a beach party in Ibiza, drinks are flowing and a great set is playing. This release would be idyllic for that kind of scene, possibly making it one of Jags more commercial mixes when compared to his previous work such as ‘VYBLYF’. Jaguar, who describes his style as “a brick in your face, thrown by a man in a mask” is throwing something a little softer than bricks when it comes to this track, as it doesn’t seem to be as hard as some of his popular mash ups. It could be said that Jags took a more approachable road on this new release with Chords.

However, although he may have drifted slightly from his usual style, Jags did stay true to his promise and he certainly “cut, paste and blasted the face off” this Matti Roots funky house single.
