Fur Coat – ‘There’s No Time’ EP

Fur Coat are set to debut on Hot Creations with their EP ‘There’s No Time’. Getting Jamie Jones and Lee Foss’ seal of approval is no mean feat but no one can say the Venezuelan duo aren’t worthy of the honour.

After meeting at a house party a decade ago, the talented twosome have grown from salsa roots to some of the finest deep house about, having been snapped up by Damian Lazarus for his Crosstown Rebels imprint in 2010 and seeing releases on Noir and Get Physical in the mean time.

Famed for their collaboration with Cari Golden in ‘You and I’ and for the original of ‘Space Ballad’ from their debut EP – blown back to the Jurassic by those Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs. Things have moved on nicely from there for the Caracas lads and they’ve been clocking up air-miles from Manchester to Miami, Brazil to Ibiza at clubs like WHP, DC10 and Warung and add to that their debut LP in 2012, ‘Mind Over Matter’, these guys are no fugazis.

There’s No Time features three absolute chazwazzas – two originals and a ‘Warehouse Mix’ from Hot Creations mainstay and Jones/Foss mentee, wAFF. Title track ‘There’s No Time’ is a throbbing, pulsing electronic rhythm, offset perfectly by a super-white, open hi, vocal grunges and retro-future, sonic scrapes and blows.

The wAFF remix is a perc-ier, more up-and-at-’em affair with crisper defined sounds and vox, as well a couple extra beats per minute for good measure. ‘Together’ is a thought-provoking, late night, flashback-evoking piece of crumpet. It casually rumbles along through a much deeper landscape than the previous two and ends the EP with a mind full of profound impressions.

The vinyl drops on Monday while you’ll have to wait ’til the 31st to get your hands on the megabytes.
