Our latest festival round-up features two massive dates on the TNG festival calendar. Kicking off at the back end of summer, here’s the latest news from the guys and girls at Dekmantel and Dimensions.
First up comes a combination made in heaven. Not only is Dekmantel taking place in Amsterdam, it also features some of the best names from the world of dance music. Oh, and did we mention? It’s in Amsterdam.
Set in the outskirts of the Dutch capital, in Amsterdamse Bos (Amsterdam Forest), a park three times the size of New York’s Central Park, the weekend event offers a unique experience that is frankly unmissable. Already on the bill before the latest announcement are the likes of TNG faves DJ Koze and Levon Vincent, not to mention the enigmatic Blawan, Nicolas Jaar, Tessela, Tom Trago and Joy Orbison.
The fresh announcements add further pedigree to a mouth-watering lineup. The highlights include Nina Kraviz, the boys at Bicep, Boddika, Efdemin and Berghain tech-grenade Marcel Dettmann back-to-back with Luke Slater.
Dekmantel takes place on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of August. Weekend tickets are available at €105 (around £85 at current rates) with one-dayers setting you back €42 (£34), you can get your greedy hands on them from Wednesday the 9 April and if you’re looking to do it properly, you can pick up a camping pass for €30 (£24). All prices are excluding “service charges” which might be worth bearing in mind. Check out the schedule for each day on the site.
Next up is the latest raft of acts announced for Dimensions festival on the idyllic Adriatic coast so let’s get straight down to business.
If we weren’t spoiled already, Dimensions have just revealed a new batch of acts which adds huge names like Oneman (Jackmaster and Oneman Can U Dance), Theo Parrish, Ben Klock and Marcell Dettmann to a roster which includes Moodymann, Giles Peterson and Metro Area. Daphni, Warpaint, Robert Hood and Kelela will also now feature at one of Europe’s fastest growing festivals.
Like Dekmantel, Dimensions is a must this summer for festival-goers and offers a unique setting to rave from sun up to sun down in an abandoned 19th century fort on the beautiful Croatian coastline.
Dimensions is held at Fort Punta Christo, in Pula, Croatia. It’s the same legendary site where Outlook Festival takes place. The festival boasts one of the most advanced soundsystems around for a festival of its size and takes place from the 27th-31st of August.
Check out these hand-selected mixes from some of the highlights of this week’s announcements, including a legendary set from Nicolas Jaar at Sonar Off, Bodikka at Ibiza’s DC10 and a Giles Peterson Boiler Room mix.
