On Friday, August 1st, Deep Site Recordings takes over The Faversham in Leeds, from 11pm until 4am, to celebrate their second anniversary as one of the most respected independent labels in the deep and soulful house music scene.
Headlining the main room is San Francisco house legend, Sunshine Jones, with a very special live performance/DJ set.
Sunshine is largely known for being one half of the highly successful partnership, Dubtribe Sound System, who spent most of the 1990’s touring with their live show and knocking out a string of releases on their vinyl imprint, Imperial Dub, with hits such as ‘Equitoreal’. The Dubtribe partnership ceased shortly after the turn of the century, having released the acclaimed albums ‘Bryant Street’ (1999) on Imperial and ‘Baggage’ on none other than Defected.
After taking some time out, Sunshine came back in 2007 to release his first solo album, ‘Seven Tracks In Seven Days’, on King Street Sounds. Since then, he has been touring globally, performing his live DJ sets, while releasing solo material and remixing for labels such as Cosmic Disco, Nite Grooves, Kolour Recordings, Deep Class, Seamless, King Street and more.
Currently, he is back on the road with Dubtribe Sound System, playing live gigs as well as working on new DSS material alongside his own solo work. Deep Site Recordings’ event will be the final date of Sunshine’s European adventure tour and his only UK appearance.
The event will also mark the release of Deep Site’s official 2 year anniversary CD, compiled & mixed by Sunshine Jones, which of course will be available on the night.
