‘Deepfield’ is the latest release from one of the most relevant French Producers: Arias. He continues to mould pulsating club sounds into promising anthems and, once again, emerges from obscurity with a melodic and enthusiastic track. Being released in the wake of his previous successes, ‘Deepfield’ is out now on Beatport.
‘Deepfield’ possesses busy electric background sounds, entwining with bursts of artificial drums and then shifting behind the forceful beat. A chaotic fusion of different electro effects come together, all leading up to the hard combination of synths that form the violent melody. However, the sound doesn’t really come to life until the vocals rip open the track as if it had been silence up until then. The lyrics fit perfectly among the rest of the song and, as they’re repeated in such a passionate outcry, really convey the frustration of the singer. Unless they’re just generic lyrics, but what artist would ever sing lyrics they didn’t really mean? Surely no one.
‘Deepfield’ is quite similar to Arias’ previous works. ‘Andromeda’ has the same strong beat and steady pace, but the sound is more modern and the tone is lighter. It makes even more extensive use of synths, forming a more upbeat and arguably catchier tune, but the drop of the beat is more integrated into the adjacent parts. The lack of vocal content pushes ‘Deepfield’ past the level of ‘Andromeda’, however. ‘Pegasus’, another of his songs, is deeper with more prolonged notes. It also packs a bigger punch, the crest of the song filling your ears with undulating electronic sounds, pushed forward by the demanding beat. ‘Viirgo’ is probably the track most similar to ‘Deepfeild’, with layered beats creating a sense of purposeful disarray, though ‘Viirgo’ has an undeniable club sound. Either way, they all show off the immense talent of Arias.
