Andre Lodemann – ‘Coming Your Way’ EP

With more than 20 years in the game and a stalwart of the Berlin club-scene, Andre Lodemann is set to launch his first EP on Defected off-shoot DFTD next month. ‘Coming Your Way’ features two tracks but what it lacks in quantity, it makes up for with a charming, fresh appeal.

Title track ‘Coming Your Way’ is a suspense thriller that flirts and teases with elusive vocal murmurs, a staccato guitar track and twisting synth-work. It raises the tension like Chinese water torture, building drop by drop until the pressure reaches bursting point. The release is a subtle, euphoric transition that melts into a harmonious juddering lead which carries itself to the last bar.

‘Feeling Good’ again makes use of a guitar – a couple in fact – to add an organic feel to what is an eclectic, electric ensemble of shimmering, distorted vocals and delicate synths. It has a deep, refreshing groove with warm, shifting trance tones that gently twist and filter across the frequencies.

While Feeling Good has a dream-like feel good vibe (it’s all in the name), the title track is certainly the main vehicle of this inspiriting EP. Look out for Lodemann’s Coming Your Way in the second week of February for something a little different to drop in the mix.
